Lucho (born LuisEnrique) is a songwriter, worship leader, musician, and producer originally from the Bay Area (Richmond, CA). Passionate about creating music that reflects worship as a lifestyle, he desires to lead people into deeper encounters with God.
At 8, after hurting his leg playing soccer, Lucho’s mom gave him a guitar, and what started as a way to pass the time became an obsession. He taught himself by listening to Carlos Santana, George Benson, John Mayer Trio, Pino Palladino, and artists like Dave Brubeck, Erroll Garner, Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles, The Meters, and Love Quest, spending hours recreating their sounds. That summer sparked a deep love for musicianship that continues to shape him today.
At 14, Lucho tried out for his church worship team. After hearing him play, they saw his potential and added him to the live album team. He recorded with this team that summer. That opportunity opened up a life of experiences, allowing him to travel and play guitar across much of the United States and Central America. On the road, he gained experience with touring, live performances, and sound—skills that still influence his music today.
Blending gospel and Latin influences, Lucho’s sound reflects his personal experiences and the vibrant culture that shaped him. His songwriting is rooted in devotion—crafted to inspire radical worship and intimate moments with God. Along the way, he founded the creative collective Radical & Intimate and embraced the phrase “Nota Sunday Thing” as both a creative brand and a life motto—a reminder that worship isn’t confined to a day or a place but is meant to overflow into every part of life.
In 2019, he released his first solo project, “Crea en Mi”, under the creative collective Radical & Intimate—a song birthed from a deeply personal moment after making a significant mistake. Out of that experience, Lucho wrote what became one of his most honest songs—a heartfelt prayer asking God to create in him a clean heart. Inspired by Psalm 51, the song became a vulnerable reflection of repentance and surrender.
In 2019, Lucho released his first solo project, “Crea en Mi”, under the creative collective Radical & Intimate—a deeply personal song born from a moment of repentance, inspired by Psalm 51. In 2024, he released “En Tu Presencia”, a response to “Crea en Mi”, marking a new chapter after realizing that God’s presence was home all along. The gap between the two songs reflects years of growth, healing, and a personal conviction to finish what he started, with “En Tu Presencia” being released under his artist name, Lucho.
Today, Lucho serves as a worship pastor in Concord, CA, alongside his wife, Rebekah Dani. He is actively building the Bay Area worship movement—a movement focused on restoring the true definition of worship. Together, they believe the Bay Area is the next epicenter for a cultural revival—one that will be heard around the world.
